Expanding views of public health
Verily Sightline
Empowering communities to detect and empower decision-makers to mitigate disease at scale
Partnering with scientists, communities and governments, Verily expands views of public health to better inform local and national responses through innovative solutions that monitor pathogen targets and empower decision-makers to mitigate disease at the population level.
Sightline wastewater testing
Leading wastewater monitoring science to combat spread of infectious disease
Verily is a leader in the laboratory science behind wastewater monitoring. In collaboration with academic researchers, government agencies, and commercial organizations, our scientists conduct research to develop and validate assays needed to consistently and accurately measure the concentration of viral, fungal, and bacterial DNA and RNA in wastewater in near real time — providing information about levels of disease spread within communities.
Verily is working closely with public health specialists, clinicians, and researchers to use the data from wastewater to explore various use cases ranging from improving existing public health surveillance systems to optimizing research and development efforts.
What it delivers
Sightline data insights
Turning today’s signals into a healthy tomorrow
Sightline Data Insights turns wastewater signals into localized, predictive population health intelligence to support public health and clinical decision-making.
A watershed moment in public health
Hear from public health officials about real-time wastewater monitoring to help protect the Las Vegas community, in Verily’s short documentary series N of 1.
What we measure
Verily has currently implemented assays to test for 30+ pathogen targets and are conducting research and development into several more. We work with our partners to identify targets of interest and develop approaches to monitor these in wastewater.

People represented
US sampling sites
We work with our clients to collect samples from a variety of locations throughout the wastewater system–from treatment plants representing millions of people to pipes accessed by manholes for specific facilities and institutions.
- Samples can be either liquid influent or settled solids from a primary clarifier
- We provide all materials for collecting and shipping samples back to our lab
