Before joining Google and co-founding Verily, Dr. Jessica Mega was a preeminent cardiologist at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She led innovative, international clinical trials investigating novel therapies and directed the TIMI Study Group’s Genomics Program, applying new genomic technologies and other techniques to discover ways to personalize care for patients. Her groundbreaking work uniquely positioned Dr. Mega to help define and advance Verily’s mission to make the world's health data useful so that people could enjoy healthier lives. She served as Verily’s first Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, pioneering approaches that combined leading clinical and scientific capabilities with the best of technology and data science. She played a critical role in the creation of a patient-centered evidence generation platform used by multiple industry, academic, and advocacy partners, guided Verily’s national response to the COVID pandemic, and developed products that apply next generation multidimensional health data to both research and clinical care. Dr. Mega built the foundation of many of Verily’s core businesses and functions, hired and grew exceptional leaders and teams across the company, and brought the vision of precision health to life in countless ways.
