Liftware's selection of stabilizing and leveling handles and utensil attachments are designed to help people with hand tremor or limited hand and arm mobility retain dignity, confidence and independence.
Liftware Steady is designed to help people with hand tremor, which may be related to Parkinson's disease or essential tremor, while Liftware Level is designed to help people with limited hand and arm mobility, which may be related to cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Huntington's disease or post-stroke deficits.
Liftware Steady has an electronic stabilizing handle containing sensors that detect hand motion and a small onboard computer that distinguishes unwanted tremor from the intended movement of the hand. To stabilize the utensil, the computer directs two motors in the handle to move the utensil attachment in the opposite direction of any detected tremor.
The Liftware Level handle contains sensors that detect changes from the intended movement of the hand in three dimensions. It uses motion-stabilizing technology to keep the utensil level, regardless of how the user’s hand or arm twists, bends or moves.
