CAP Accreditation is awarded to laboratories that meet stringent requirements for quality and safety.
Verily’s Clinical Lab (a CLIA licensed lab) in South San Francisco has been awarded one of the highest lab industry standards: College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation. Widely recognized as the industry gold standard, the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is designed to ensure laboratories meet stringent requirements and maintain the highest standards of laboratory quality, safety, and accuracy. The accreditation was awarded to the Verily Clinical Lab by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification, based on a thorough onsite inspection of the lab which it deemed to provide excellence in laboratory services. This certification will guide the Verily Clinical Lab in keeping continuous in-depth monitoring and maintenance of a safe and properly functioning laboratory.
The Verily Clinical Lab — which was established in Spring 2020 in response to the surging demand for COVID-19 testing and lab capacity --- has processed over 600,000 test samples as part of the company’s Healthy at Work program. The lab played a critical role in Verily’s Emergency Use Authorization submissions (EUAs) for COVID-19 response initiatives and contributed to the body of research surrounding COVID-19 testing techniques and sample collection methods, which Verily has made publicly available. The lab continues to focus on advancing COVID-19 research and diagnostics while processing thousands of samples per day for Healthy at Work customers. The team of expert scientists and laboratory technicians operating Verily’s Clinical Lab plans to apply its expertise gained from COVID-19 testing and research to additional areas of need in testing and diagnostics.
