Measuring Verily’s Impact in a Year Like No Other

Measuring Verily’s Impact in a Year Like No Other

In the early months of 2020, it was impossible to imagine what would soon unfold through the COVID-19 pandemic and the unprecedented impact it would have across the U.S. and around the world. As a mission-driven organization focused on empowering healthier, happier lives, we quickly pivoted many of our efforts throughout 2020 to join the fight against the pandemic.

Verily touched many parts of the national response effort, from community testing, to research, and safe return to work services. We developed one of the first community-based testing services, the Baseline COVID-19 Testing Program - which to date has tested nearly 2.5 million people. Using the Baseline Platform, we contributed to the HERO-Together study, which is evaluating the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for frontline health workers. And, our team created a unique Healthy at Work program to support over 150,000 people (and counting) returning safely to their workplace or university, using a new CLIA-certified lab at our headquarters in South San Francisco, which increased local COVID-19 testing capacity and continues to drive innovation in population-based testing. We achieved incredible progress and are proud of the impact we made as a collective team.
